Work out your own credit

Enter the labour you paid for during the year. It is itemised on your invoice.

These do not qualify for the credit, but they are part of what you pay.

How to claim it in OmaVero

The credit is only granted for work done by a company entered in the prepayment register, and the entry is checked when the work is ordered. Mansio Group Oy, Business ID 3631044-9, is in the prepayment register — this is the Business ID you give in OmaVero.

  1. Book the cleaning and pay the invoice. The payment date decides the tax year.
  2. Sign in to OmaVero and open your tax return or tax card.
  3. Under Household tax credit, give the order or contract date, where the work was done, the invoice total, the eligible labour amount including VAT, the payment dates, and the Business ID 3631044-9.
  4. The credit appears in your tax decision, either as less tax or as a larger refund.

Frequently asked questions

The credit is 35 % of the amount paid for work, including VAT. The maximum is 1,600 euros per person a year and the personal liability threshold is 150 euros a year. The maximum is reached when the work-related portion of the invoices is 5,000 euros.

Only the labour portion, including VAT. Travel, cleaning supplies and equipment charges do not qualify. We itemise the labour portion on the invoice so reporting is straightforward.

Multiply the labour you paid for during the year by 0.35 and subtract the 150 euro threshold. The result is at least 0 and at most 1,600 euros. On 1,000 euros of labour the credit is 1,000 × 0.35 − 150 = 200 euros.

Not on small amounts. Each claimant carries their own 150 euro threshold, so splitting costs 150 euros from the combined total for as long as a single claim is below the cap. Splitting only starts to pay from roughly 5 430 € of labour, and the combined maximum is 3,200 euros. Automatic transfer of any unused credit applies only to those treated as spouses for tax purposes.

The payment date decides, not the cleaning date. A cleaning done in December and paid in January counts toward the following year.

Yes. The credit is only granted for work done by a company entered in the prepayment register, and the entry is checked when the work is ordered. Mansio Group Oy (Business ID 3631044-9) is in the register. You can check the entry in the Business Information System using the Business ID.

Work done in your own permanent home, a holiday home, or a parent’s or grandparent’s home. Cleaning in a rented flat also qualifies when you live there yourself.

No. You pay the invoice in full and receive the credit through taxation. Report the labour portion in OmaVero and it lowers your tax or increases your refund. The credit requires that you have sufficient tax payable.

Yes. Taxation can be corrected for the three preceding years, so a forgotten credit is not lost.
